“Growing Pains” Selected as ‘Song of the Day’ – IndieWavves
Notes
This album is about life’s ups and downs, and how it’s okay to fail as long as you move forward. It’s about how having a marriage can be the most wonderful and fulfilling commitment you could ever make. It’s also about how society can try to shape you but you can be beautiful in your own way, but everyone falls short, even myself.
Influenced by John Lennon’s 1971 album ‘Imagine’ & Arcade Fire’s 2007 album ‘Neon Bible.’
This album opens with a song written, recorded and released in one day (Love Beat.) It also includes a song about how a relationship with Jesus can bring peace and understanding but not without a battle – written in the same key and BPM as John Lennon’s “Jealous Guy” (Jesus Set Me Free.) As well as a song influenced by John Lennon’s “I Don’t Wanna Be a Solider Mama” about not wanting to be drafted into war and forced to kill (No More War.) It also includes a song inspired by a short-story about a young man who meets an outlaw rodeo cowboy whom he saw kill someone years ago (Wild Bill.)
